About TMC
Trinity Methodist Church was established in November 2024 by a group of volunteers wanting to worship together in a traditional Methodist Church. Lakeview Baptist Church has graciously allowed us to use their sanctuary.
While we are still a work in progress, our goal is to create a church that is prayer driven, rooted in Biblical teaching, family friendly, youth focused, spirit filled and action oriented. We hope you choose to join us on our journey to bring grace, truth and the word of God to our community.

TMC Staff
Meet the Staff
Barry is a native of the Appalachian Mountains, born and raised in Bluefield, West Virginia. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Concord University in Athens, West Virginia, where he studied Public Administration and received a minor in Political Science. Following a call to ordained ministry, he studied at Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, Kentucky, where he received his Master of Divinity degree in 1988. He has been a pastor in rural, small-town, and major urban settings, including churches in West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, and Georgia. He has served in multi-church appointments, as a Minister of Evangelism in a large church, and as a church planter. He is a 1996 graduate of the Appalachian School of Evangelism and is a certified Crown Ministries personal/family financial trainer. He is the author of a congregational study entitled 5 Ways to Grow in God’s Grace. Barry also has a consulting ministry known as the Shepherd’s Well (www.theshepherdswell.com) and has served as interim pastor for congregations in transition. He is an ordained elder in full connection with the Global Methodist Church and serves within the South Carolina Conference.
Barry believes that God builds the Church as the Church faithfully focuses on building people into disciples of Jesus Christ. He loves preaching and teaching the Bible, engaging in small groups for fellowship and spiritual growth, and learning all he can about his community and its demographics to serve and share Jesus more effectively. He enjoys reading (especially American history and Wesleyan history/theology), travel, guitar, golfing, tracing his family history, following college football, and keeping up with collections he has been accumulating since childhood (memorabilia from the Apollo Space Program, classic issues of Marvel Comics, etc.). He has two grown children who are his pride and joy, Joshua and Hope.
Barry is excited about the future of Trinity Church and thankful to be a part of it.

Mary Abbott
Director of Christian Education
Mary has worked in Children's & Youth ministries for almost twenty years. She often reminds people that "if you find something you love, you'll never work a day in your life". Teaching young people about Jesus and how He will transform your life is her passion. Confirmation, Bible studies, Youth group, Sunday school, children's choirs, Live Nativities, mission trips, Children's Time during worship, conference basketball tournaments, Mystery Trips, and much more are some of the ministries Mary plans and implements. Mary is married to Rich and they have three grown children: Ellie (Ryan), Will (Emma) & Tate and one granddaughter, Mallory.

Rugina Brazell
Rugina has a passion for serving others through ministry, education, and hospitality. She has served in a variety of roles both in and out of the church, including children’s ministries, senior adult ministries, and the Columbia Homeschool Community, where she has served families for over a decade. She believes every opportunity to serve is an opportunity to encourage others but more importantly share God's love and grace. Rugina, and her husband, Jonathan, are blessed with their son teenage son, Henry. One of her favorite Scriptures is Psalm 46:10: “Be still, and know that I am God.” While she freely admits that being still does not always come naturally, she finds comfort in knowing that God is faithful, present, and always in control.
